Altered book lesson 6 - Altered book les 6

I've been quit busy last week with work and preparations for my altered book lessons.
I had planned to put all the design element into one page, but it just didn't work out that way.

1st one: rhythm or pattern: / 1ste: ritme of patroon
I've used a homemade stamp with stazon and memento inkpads
2nd: rhythm and/or repetition: / 2e: ritme en/of herhaling:
Homemade stamp with stazon and memento inkpads. (and its raining right now. I feel cosy here in my lovely room in the attic)
3th one: Contrast:  /   3e contrast:
I've used Hero arts stamps: large open en closed flower with black embossing powder.

And last: Dominance with a bit of repetition:  /  De laatste: dominantie en herhaling.

I've used arylic paint, a hart mask I made myself, some stamps, old paper left overs and a white pen..
The saying is in dutch meaning: "Love doesn't cost anything to get, but is unaffordable if you have it. (now I think about it, it could also be; unaffordable if you don't have it) Ah well : CHERISH your loved ones!!
I've had a lot of fun making these, hope you'll like them too

Love Susan

Your pages are fantastic Susan, I think you have demonstrated all the different elements perfectly.

Thanks for the lovely comment you left on my pages too :)

Great pages Susan, love how you have made your own stamps. Your contrast pages are brilliant and your hearts are fab too. Well done. BJ

It is often difficult to get several techniques (design principles) on a single page. I really like how you started with pattern because it is not just beautiful, but it is also very complex.

Raindrops do set up a rhythm. I think they also show movement. And they make YOU feel cozy and safe. There are many important reasons for adding the raindrops to your AB.

I love what you have done with contrast. It is also a great way to show both positive and negative space, which I discussed for Lesson 7. I think it would be a great example, and you can always reuse any of the principles to demonstrate the elements.

What a great example of both dominance AND repetition. Such color, too!! You have turned this lesson into a true study of the design principles. I believe you have really achieved your goal. NOW, I just hope I can find your blog again, because I don't want to lose you. In fact, I would love to add you to my left sidebar, so I know when you have updated your blog. Please let me know if that is OK with you.

Beautiful pages, all showing the design principles, I love the idea of hearing the rain drops fall on your attic roof! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)
